Several years ago in GM Thailand, my boss said, "Keep doing the right thing, and good things will come to you." I believed him and I have been trying to keep doing the right thing. It probably is a reason I got this opportunity!

As Asia Pacific Regional Portfolio Planning Manager (since January 2005), I have to work with many people around the world. Many regional and global meetings/conference calls I have to conduct and attend. And many business trips I have to travel in Asia Pacific and other regions.

I also have to face with challenges of living and working far from home. In Shanghai, where GM Asia Pacific head-quarters locates, the air temperatures are so much different from season to season. It could be -3 (minus three) degree celsius in winter and 42 degree celsius in summer. People neither speak Thai nor English. It's also a challenge to balance my time between work and personal life due to the workload and different time zones meetings/conference calls, which mostly end up with night-time meeting for us in Asia. Yes, it's a high pressure job. As you may know...opportunities always come with responsibilities.

It's a great experience worth sharing with others. You can also get this kind of opportunities. If you keep working hard and keep doing the right thing (for company), your contribution will be recognized. Then somehow good things and opportunities will come to you.
