GM Thailand celebrates MOL’s outstanding safety award for 10th consecutive year
Bangkok - General Motors Thailand was again presented with the “Outstanding Award for Safety, Occupational Health and Working Environment” at the 24th National Work Safety Week ceremony. This marks the 10th consecutive year that the company has been recognized for its safety performance and work environment initiatives. The award was presented by the Labor Minister Chalermchai Sri-orn (right) to GM’s delegate, Ukrit Srivirach (left), the Director of Safety, General Motors Thailand.

The Chevrolet AVEO 1600cc and Chevrolet Optra Estate CNG have both won an award each at the recent ‘Car of the Year’ awards organized by GrandPrix International. This marks the second consecutive year for the Chevrolet Optra Estate CNG to receive this award. |

In conjunction with the 31st Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) Chevrolet Sales Thailand (CST) unveiled its new brand image, accompanied by the theme ‘Brand Transformation’. The ‘Brand Transformation’ campaign will be driven by ongoing developments including up-gradation of its customer services and timely launches of the best cars and trucks. Other objectives under this campaign include enhanced manufacturing techniques and technologies and enhanced communications and public management with internal and external stakeholders. From another perspective, this campaign can be viewed as CST and GM Thailand’s commitment to its customers and the Thai/ASEAN markets. |

Mr Korn Chatikavanich, Minister of Finance and Mr Eric G. John, US ambassador to Thailand are attending the signing ceremony of a 13.5-billion-baht (US$-409-million) facility agreement between General Motors Thailand and three leading Thai banks – Bangkok Bank, Siam Commercial Bank and Tisco Bank to secure investment funding and working capital which will
be using to ensure the continuance of three significant programs; to the development of new pick-up trucks and SUVs, and the construction of the first diesel engine plant in the ASEAN region.

Based at GMIO’s headquarters in Shanghai, Mr. Lee oversees GM’s Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa and Middle East operations. |

Ahead of its official launch at the 26th Thailand Motor Expo 2009, Chevrolet is making available immediately a wide range of promotional packages to introduce its new 1.6-liter AVEO. Known as the “Compact Car with Big Design”, the automobile comes with a power hub engine. It will make its official debut at the popular annual motor show, which takes place next month. Buyers can choose from terms that include a low down payment, a low interest rate and free first-class insurance for the first year. |

General Motors Company (GMCo) today announced a series of key executive appointments at the new Shanghai-based GM International Operations (GMIO). As part of the announcement, GM also introduced new senior executives at GM Holden in Australia and GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. (GM Daewoo) in Korea. The new and leaner organization was created to replace the former General Motors Corporation’s regional operating structure, previously headed by GM Asia Pacific. |

General Motors Corporation (GMC) achieved another milestone in its reinvention when Judge Robert E. Gerber of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York recently approved the sale of substantially all of General Motors Corporation’s assets to NGMCO, Inc., an entity funded by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In connection with the closing of the sale transaction, NGMCO, Inc. will change its name to General Motors Company and continue to operate under GMC’s historic corporate and sub brands. The approval marks another step toward the launch of an independent new GM. |

General Motors is investing $445 million to build an engine plant and upgrade an existing vehicle assembly plant here, company Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner announced today.
The new 14,492-square-meter facility will be GM’s first diesel engine plant in Southeast Asia and will provide four-cylinder diesel engines for use by Chevrolet in Thailand and other global markets and brands. |
